Fall is definitely in the air. Just like the change in seasons, wonderful changes are happening at ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø! This week, the University named a new Vice President for Enrollment Management. After an extensive national search, ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø has named Kimberley Buster-Williams as its new Vice President for Enrollment Management. She will start on Jan. 3.

ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø’s University President gives a State of the University Address each year. This year’s Address is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 26 and will take place both in person and via livestream! For the second year in a row, ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø’s Golden Gala and Alumni Awards Ceremony is going virtual! Everyone is invited to join the celebration honoring four alumni and a current student for their contributions to their communities, and place bids in an online auction for items, including trips and tours. ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø is pleased to welcome its new Executive Director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Dr. Shireen Roshanravan. NEIU is also excited to announce a new partnership with four other Illinois schools to create a more diverse and equitable data science workforce through the Metropolitan Chicago Data-science Corps. ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø is one of five Illinois schools to partner in the establishment of the Metropolitan Chicago Data-science Corps (MCDC) to help meet the data science needs of the Chicago metropolitan area.

Dr. Shireen Roshanravan was named ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø’s first Executive Director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and began serving the University in this capacity in July 2021.  

ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø has a long history of being a welcoming space for all who wish to pursue higher education. In the spirit of that tradition, ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø will offer tuition and fee waivers for up to 15 qualified Afghan refugees who settle in Chicago or nearby areas.
