ڰ, Black Ensemble Theater partner on new production, “Our World”
“Our World” will be performed at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 2 at the Black Ensemble Theater, 4450 N. Clark St. in Chicago, and 3 p.m. Monday, May 6 on the Main Campus. The performance is free and open to the public.
ڰ awards first George Floyd Social Justice Scholarships
The George Floyd Social Justice Scholarship was created in response to Floyd’s death and the deaths of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and numerous Black Americans who were tragically and senselessly killed. Their deaths sparked mass protests throughout the country and around the world last summer—in the midst of a global pandemic—as demonstrators called out systematic racism, inequality and injustice, and urged communities to put forth intentional programs geared toward a greater focus on social justice.

ڰ was awarded a five-year, $1.3 million Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program grant from the U.S. Department of Education! Noteworthy at ڰ: Giving thanks
As we pause to reflect on the past year, ڰ has a lot to be thankful for. We’re proud to have students and employees learning and working safely on campus. We’re appreciative of all who have worked so hard throughout the COVID-19 pandemic to get us to this point. We’re thankful for an optimistic outlook for the next generation of NEIU scholars, especially with the expansion of the NEIU For You scholarship.
