U.S. Rep. Luis Gutiérrez (B.A. ’76 English) donated his Congressional archives to ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø upon his retirement. The archives have been digitized and are now available for public viewing! Gutiérrez Congressional digital archive at NEIU Libraries is now available for viewing

When U.S. Rep. Luis Gutiérrez chose not to seek reelection in 2018, he donated his Congressional archives to ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø. The Luis V. Gutiérrez Congressional Archives, which contain 41 linear feet of documents, awards, letters and other paraphernalia, is now available for online viewing.

Based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Illinois Board of Higher Education, ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø President Gloria J. Gibson issued a statement on Aug. 9 announcing that all ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø employees and students who will be on campus in the fall are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 for the 2021-2022 academic year or undergo weekly testing. The deadline for students-at-large and undergraduate applications has been extended to Aug. 20 and NEIU For You is still taking applicants. ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø expands master’s concentrations, adds graduate certificate

ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏ꿉۪s Master of Public Health (MPH) program will now offer two concentrations—Public Health Promotion and School Health—beginning Fall 2021. Additionally, ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏ꿉۪s Master of Social Work program added a specialization in School Social Work and the Master of Business Administration program added seven concentrations: General Business, Finance, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Global/International Business, Information Technology and Public Health.

ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø is proud to share that nine faculty members have been awarded tenure and promoted to the rank of associate professor. Undergraduate and transfer students can still take advantage of NEIU For You, a one-time scholarship that covers tuition and mandatory fees for first-year, full-time undergraduates.
