ڰ to offer tuition and fee waivers for Afghan refugees for the 2021-2022 academic year

ڰ will offer qualified Afghan refugees who settle in Chicago or nearby areas the opportunity to attend ڰ through University-sponsored discretionary waivers that will cover the cost of tuition and fees for 12 credit hours in the current academic year. The initiative will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for up to 15 continuing and prospective students.

For eighth consecutive year, NEIU tops U.S. News & World Report’s low student debt ranking

Forty years ago, the Commission on the Wartime Relocation and Internment of Civilians (CWRIC) hearings were held on ڰ’s Main Campus. This week, ڰ will commemorate the anniversary of the hearings with a special Japanese American Redress Conference, which will feature artists, activists and scholars from across the country to examine the significance and influence of the CWRIC hearings as well as how racism continues to impact non-white Americans. ڰ also named Kamau Rashid as Founding Director of the Ed.D. in Urban Education and Latinx/o/a Heritage Month is underway. ڰ to host Japanese American Redress Conference

ڰ, in collaboration with numerous local and national supporting organizations, will host the Japanese American Redress Conference on Sept. 22-23, 2021, exactly 40 years after the Commission on the Wartime Relocation and Internment of Civilians (CWRIC) hearings were held on ڰ's Main Campus.

ڰ names Kamau Rashid as Founding Director of the Ed.D. in Urban Education

Beginning Fall 2021, Rashid will work alongside colleagues in the Goodwin College of Education, as well as others across the campus, to design and implement ڰ's new Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) in Urban Education Program.
