�ڰ������� Assistant Professor of Educational Inquiry and Curriculum Studies Sunni Ali published his third book, “Lessons Learned: Critical Conversation in Hip Hop and Social Justice.”

“An Evening with Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor,” will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15 in the Auditorium on the Main Campus, 3701 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. 

The U.S. Department of Education has awarded �ڰ������� a five-year, $1.3 million Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program grant. �ڰ������� is the recipient of one of 189 new grant awards to institutions of higher education. In total, $51.7 million in McNair grants were awarded across the country. 

�ڰ������� received another update to its credit rating this week. We also earned recognition as an official Tree Campus for the seventh year in a row. Read about these stories, upcoming events and more in this edition of Noteworthy at �ڰ�������. 

For the seventh consecutive year, �ڰ������� has received a Tree Campus USA recognition from the Arbor Day Foundation.

�ڰ������� has entered into a formal partnership with Hope Chicago, a nonprofit organization seeking to reduce economic and social inequity by funding postsecondary scholarships and non-tuition costs for Chicago Public Schools graduates and their adult family members eager to return to school and update their skills. 

�ڰ������� is once again partnering with Google as it joins the Grow with Google HSI Career Readiness Program. �ڰ������� is the only four-year institution in the state of Illinois to partner with Google on this initiative, which will help Latinx students at 35 Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) prepare for the workforce through digital skills training and career workshops.

�ڰ�������’s longest-running annual philanthropic event, the Chuck Kane Scholarship Golf Outing, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year!
