Martin Luther King Jr. Day is Jan. 19, and �ڰ������� is packing your schedule with lectures, service projects and more in observance of the holiday. Check out the details on �ڰ�������’s MLK events, media appearances and other news you need to know.

�ڰ������� graduates its students with the least amount of student debt among Midwest regional universities, according to the 2022 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s annual “Best Colleges” publication. 

All are invited to commemorate National Arbor Day by participating in an event called “Wishing on the Leaves of Change” on April 28 from 12:15-1:30 p.m. 

GradReports, an online resource that matches students to graduate programs, named �ڰ�������’s Educational Leadership program the best in the state and 20th overall in the nation on its list of 2020 Best Colleges.

This year, �ڰ�������’s Black History/Heritage Month celebration offers both in-person and virtual events. Dr. Sharon L. Bethea discusses Black History Month's Chicago roots and the impact of the George Floyd Social Justice Scholarship at NEIU.

A new $17.4 million grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) will help three Chicago universities work together with many of the city’s underserved communities to foster meaningful cancer research, education, training and outreach.

Due to recent increases in COVID-19 cases, the spread of the omicron variant, and new guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), �ڰ������� is implementing new COVID-19 health and safety measures.
