Noteworthy at ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø: Reflecting on the past, creating a better future

Forty years ago, the Commission on the Wartime Relocation and Internment of Civilians (CWRIC) hearings were held on ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏ꿉۪s Main Campus. This week, ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø will commemorate the anniversary of the hearings with a special Japanese American Redress Conference, which will feature artists, activists and scholars from across the country to examine the significance and influence of the CWRIC hearings as well as how racism continues to impact non-white Americans. ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø also named Kamau Rashid as Founding Director of the Ed.D. in Urban Education and Latinx/o/a Heritage Month is underway. Noteworthy at ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø: Creating a more equitable society

ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø is pleased to welcome its new Executive Director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Dr. Shireen Roshanravan. NEIU is also excited to announce a new partnership with four other Illinois schools to create a more diverse and equitable data science workforce through the Metropolitan Chicago Data-science Corps. Gutiérrez Congressional digital archive at NEIU Libraries is now available for viewing

When U.S. Rep. Luis Gutiérrez chose not to seek reelection in 2018, he donated his Congressional archives to ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø. The Luis V. Gutiérrez Congressional Archives, which contain 41 linear feet of documents, awards, letters and other paraphernalia, is now available for online viewing.
