12th Annual Conference on Genocide and Human Rights in Africa and the Diaspora

Save the date! The Center for Genocide and Human Rights Research in Africa and the Diaspora (GHRAD) will host its 12th annual conference at NEIU from March 2 (the opening ceremony) through March 4, 2026. While the conference will cover many genocide-related issues, it will focus especially on the link between the memory of past genocides and the prevention of future atrocities.

The conference is free and open to everyone. It is a hybrid event: You can attend in person or via Zoom.

Echoes of Silence Photography Exhibit

The GHRAD Center is also excited to invite you to the Echoes of Silence: Resilience and Reflection Photography Exhibit. Featuring new portraits and stories from the 1972 genocide, this exhibit explores resilience, memory, and the role of art in historical justice. We will hold the Photo Exhibit's opening ceremony at Ronald Williams Library on March 3rd. Please join us on this special occasion.
