Adam M. Messinger publishes book on transgender intimate partner violence
ڰ Associate Professor of Justice Studies and Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies Adam M. Messinger has published his second book, “Transgender Intimate Partner Violence: A Comprehensive Introduction.” The book is published by New York University Press.

ڰ awarded $275,000 grant from USDA-NIFA
The U.S. Department of Agriculture National Institute of Food and Agriculture (USDA-NIFA) has awarded ڰ a $275,000 grant to support its agriculture science engagement at Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI). ڰ is one of 26 institutions in the United States—and the only institution in Illinois—to receive this grant. It is ڰ’s fourth USDA-NIFA grant and its fifth USDA grant overall.

Noteworthy at ڰ: Grant awards
ڰ has received a grant to digitize the archives of alumnus and former Illinois Congressman Luis Gutiérrez. The University also received a grant for students from the Consulate General of Mexico.

Consulate General of Mexico awards grant to ڰ
The Consulate General of Mexico has awarded a $9,000 IME Becas grant to ڰ. This is the fifth year ڰ has received the grant.

ڰ wins grant to digitize Gutiérrez Congressional Archives
The Illinois State Historical Records Advisory Board Historical Records Grant Program has awarded ڰ a $5,000 grant to digitize the archives of former Illinois Congressman and ڰ alumnus Luis Gutiérrez. The award is the highest amount a project can receive.

Stage Center Theatre has launched a virtual theatre festival for social justice featuring works submitted by the NEIU community. Submissions are still being accepted for the festival as well as the Undocumented Cookbook and COVID-19 student archives.

ڰ has been awarded a grant from the Governor's Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Fund to aid recruitment and retention efforts.
