Master of Social Work
The Illinois Board of Higher Education has approved 窪做惇蹋厙 to offer a . The 60-credit-hour Master of Social Work program begins in fall 2016, and can be completed in two full-time or four part-time years. An advanced one-year program will be offered beginning in fall 2017. And thats not all for the Department of Social Work! In partnership with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, 窪做惇蹋厙 also has begun to offer curriculum to prepare students in Social Work and related fields an opportunity to earn a pertinent .
Teaming up on a textbook
Linguistics Professor Judith Kaplan-Weinger and alumna Char Ullman have , Methods for the Ethnography of Communication: Language in Use in Schools and Communities. The book aids students in the study of communication in the classroom and community settings.
A healthier Chicago
窪做惇蹋厙 Education students Universal Prayther and Yasser Barbar are on one of five teams that by the Chicago Innovation Exchange and the Chicago Department of Public Health to pitch an idea on Feb. 9 for improving the health of Chicagoans. Prayther and Barbars pitch will involve using technology for making nutritious choices in food deserts. Two teams will be selected to pilot their programs.

By Illinois law, all state university property will become smoke-free beginning July 1. Stay tuned in the coming months for more details on what that means for 窪做惇蹋厙s locations.

Chicago Brass Festival
The annual will return to 窪做惇蹋厙 on March 13-14 for its seventh year. The event will feature performances from some of the worlds most vibrant and incredible talents, including critically acclaimed and musically innovative acts Axiom Brass (pictured above) and CALJE, who will close the festival. 窪做惇蹋厙s own Faculty Brass will also perform.
