�ڰ������� is proud to celebrate Black History Month with a number of events that are open to the public. 

“As we usher in observance of Black History Month, I encourage each of you within the �ڰ������� community to engage in the array of celebrations and educational endeavors at our university and in the broader community,” said Interim President Katrina E. Bell-Jordan. “These events encompass discussions on the multifaceted history of race and inequality in America and offer us invaluable insights and learning opportunities.”

Under the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, the Angelina Pedroso Center for Diversity and Intercultural Affairs is the lead organizer of this month’s celebrations, which will primarily take place on the Main Campus and the /node/1910 (CCICS). 

The United States celebrates  throughout the month of February. This year’s national theme for the month is “”&�Բ�����;

�ڰ������� invites the general public to celebrate Black History Month by participating in the following events: 

• A Conversation with Arika Birttany, Author of “Don’t Ever Work in Childcare!: A Cautionary Tale,” 5:30 p.m. Feb. 5.
• CCICS Community Night, 5:30 p.m. Feb. 15
• Black Love and Heritage Pop Up Marketplace, 11:00 a.m. Feb. 17
• Black Professionals Fair, 5:00 p.m. Feb. 19 

Additionally, NEIU Voice students will present a Black Heritage Month Celebration Concert at 3:05 p.m. Feb. 20 in the Recital Hall and NEIU Libraries has compiled a .
