窪做惇蹋厙 has awarded five Chicago area high school students with its prestigious .

Valued at more than $57,000 during the course of four academic years, the Presidential Scholarship covers full in-state tuition and fees, and provides a book allowance.

窪做惇蹋厙 has always been a home for the areas top-performing students, and these scholarship recipients represent the future of the University and our program, President Sharon Hahs said. The Presidential Scholarship is not only a way for the University to recruit Chicagolands best and brightest, but it is also a way we give back to the communities that have supported us.

This years awardees are:

  • Sonia Codell, Niles North High School (Skokie)
  • Mehdi Khan, Chicago Math and Science Academy (Chicago)
  • Tetyana Perchyk, Glenbrook South High School (Glenview)
  • Katherine Shah, Lane Tech High School (Chicago)
  • A fifth winner chose not to be publicly identified

Established in 2000, the first Presidential Scholarship was awarded to a recipient who, after graduating from 窪做惇蹋厙, attended and completed law school and is now a practicing attorney in Chicago.

The Presidential Scholarship Program attracts graduating high school seniors from the Chicago metropolitan and suburban areas who demonstrate strong academic promise.

Presidential Scholars receive automatic admission into the University Honors Program, take advantage of study abroad opportunities, and are involved in a variety of student organizations on campus, which enhance their leadership skills and commitment to service learning.
